After a brief period of GA-friendliness, Coventry seems to have stopped all efforts to entice GA traffic to this Midlands airfield. Any further updates appreciated, but latest reports indicate that this is expensive and no longer pro-GA.

Had wanted to do a Coventry trip for over a month now but been battling with the weather. Phoned the tower before i left with an ETA, very helpful, details of Birmingham, routes and airfield info. Contacted Birmingham as soon as I was out of halfpenny's way, got half way down the side for their CTA and got a direct routing to Coventry, good stuff ! Was quite choppy airspace so did a low approach go around to sus it out. Top runway and ATC helpful on directions. Headed to park at the aero club and yes the grass is very bumpy as are the on off ramps so ultra care required. Aero club seemed to be closed and couldn't figure out how to get in ! so no food, drink or facilities. Had a great look around, some of the old timers there are just amazing with props the size of my little pa28. Bit of a wait on departure with queue of aircraft backtracking, ATC good again and the vrps are easy to see. May go again, definitely a recommend to see the collection, ATC GA friendly from my trip, just needed a place to relax and get in from the cold. ”
