Today Coventry, tomorrow The MOON!Thursday, 2 Oct 2003 Coventry Airport has launched a unique day out for aviation enthusiasts of all ages. AIR & SPACE charts 100 years of flight, from the Wright Brothers' Kittyhawk to The Space Shuttle, brought together courtesy of two top aviation attractions, The Midlands Air Museum at Coventry Airport and the National Space Centre, Leicester. Promoted by Skypartners, the company that manages Coventry's new General Aviation Terminal, the Air & Space package is fully inclusive of transfers to and from the museums, admission charges – even the landing fee at Coventry! Visiting pilots and their passengers will get an aircraft-to-door service with plenty of time to explore the museums. The package costs £45 for the pilot and £25 for each passenger, representing a significant saving when compared with the cost of individual admission charges, taxi fares etc. AIR & SPACE is the first of a series of special packages for visiting GA to Coventry. Skypartners is also putting together a self-fly holiday brochure, Flying Visits to the Heart of England, in time for the 2004 season, which will contain short-break holidays and day trips all accessible from Coventry Airport. Coventry's substantial investment in its General Aviation Terminal was highlighted in a recent article in Today's Pilot. In July the airport appointed Skypartners to manage the facility and work with the GA community to promote the airport and local businesses. "GA is feeling the squeeze at a number of locations", says Mike Collett, Chairman of Coventry Airport. "We'd just like everyone to know that Coventry continues to provide a warm welcome for all aircraft." Loading map...
