Pilot reviews of Eggesford Airfield

Found Eggesford by mistake on my NavBox Quick Plan, went on the Internet and liked what I found. Contacted Eggesford by telephone and arranged a visit, cancelled twice due to bad weather. I have friends living within 10 miles of the field and arranged to take them for a flight. It turned out to be a great day with good weather and Exeter App put me right over the field. I'm looking forward to my next flight.

Operation through Eggesford was a delight - the friendliest of welcomes, nothing too much trouble - no landing or overnight parking charges, voluntary donation only. Highly recommended for an out-of-the-way stop.

A very friendly and hospitable airstrip to visit with friendly and helpful 'flying people'. Cosy atmosphere with tea and fuel availalable and home to many Austers and other aircraft. Advisable weekdays to call Exeter R/F 128-975 for info. on military low-level traffic activity.

Slightly unusual uphill end to runway 11 and advisable to consult Lockyears with regard to instruction for strong SW wind for runway 29. A 'must' airfield to visit if ivisting Devon and Cornwall.
