Retford (Gamston) Airport, of wich i and my dad is based. Gamston is a spot on "businesslike" airport. Very professional lounge with apron view. Fantastic on-stand fuel facilities with a fuel bowser that comes to YOU! Large hangerage room with one more hanger to be built soon making even more room. ATC is spot on! allways happy to see you and the welcome in the terminal is fantastic. Diamond cafe' has closed (mainly because no one could find it and it was in the wrong place with no runway or apron views. could do with a cafe' been in the old tower area or some where wheres theres views of the runway and apron. Airport is easy to find by navigation made easy by the on-field VOR. The gliders are NO LONGER operating!! Nice long runway (long enough for a Cessna Citation and King Air`s one of we are flying. With the closure of Sheffield City AIrport (EGSY) i largely recommend Gamston for the new base of aircraft currently at Sheffield.

The control tower at Gamston. This was my first visit there even though I don't live far away. A really nice airfield, very clean, neat and quiet!
