Abbeville Aerodrome (LFOI) (FR)
There is some confusion over contact numbers for Abbeville airfield as the ones in the Jeppesen VFR manual (June 2011 update) are out of date.
These work from the UK:
Airfield Phone: (0033)9 75 41 00 91
Airfield Fax (for Customs 4 hour PNR): (0033)3 22 24 44 69
If the airfiled fax is busy, then this number works too:
Other Customs Fax: (0033)3 22 20 31 97

“ | Flew into Abbevile for the first time today. A friendly airfield and an easy one to use.
Blind calls are the order of the day on 123.5 (as noted in other reviews, the airfield plate does not mention this) - I made calls in both english and bad french and it all worked very well.
The airfield manager closed the outward flight plans and filed the return flight plan but we needed to open it with Lille on 120.275 - not a problem.
The runways, grass and hard on 02 / 20, are in excellent condition. There is a cross runway but I understand that its not used that often - would be improtant to keep your eyes peeled though - when we were there flexwings and ex military jets were mixing with the normal Robins, Jodels and UK permit aircraft.
The aifield manager called us a taxi for the trip into town (13 euros) and we had a very good and cheap meal near the cathedral although food is available at the hotel on the airfield I think. With a landing fee of 3 euros its definitely one for a re-visit. ” |
