“ | Flew to Beverley from Thruxton in a PA28. Hull Aero Club deal with PPR requests and were very helpful on the phone. The join is standard overhead so quite straightforward. Very well maintained grass runway and maneuvering areas that would rival many licenced airfields. The clubhouse/cafe is a modern building, clean and comfortable. The cafe had a limited menu but fine for snacks and drinks, and was very busy. Do not be put off by the warnings in the flight guides about high tension cables and dykes - they are easy to identify - and the runway has white edge markers to distinguish it from other parallel grass surfaces and fields. £5 landing fee is worth every penny. ” |
“ | Stayed there two times on our way to Kirkwall there and back. Just overwhelming friendly support. Highly recommendable airfield. My special thanks to Peter for his nearly accentless german guidance, but also to Paul and all the other good fellows providing us with all necesarry information to make our trip (and to decide among the many, many fine ales in old Beverley town)

“ | Pleasant friendly place. Mogas available. Very friendly. Peter from the square ordered us a room and even drove us there. Great support in the search for alternative destinations. D-KWSJ ” |
“ | Flew into Beverley with the Westair (Blackpool) fly-out on Saturday 27th for their Summer Fly-In: inbound from Gamston and outbound to Sherburn. What a lovely airfield in a great location. Sunny day, friendly people, BBQ, vintage cars & bikes, grass airfield. Flying doesn't get any better than this. No landing fee for the fly in, but even the normal £5 would be great value.
Must bring the Greyhounds next time! ” |
“ | Visited sat 14th July for the summer fly-in. Great strip with friendly people. BBQ was excellent. ” |
“ | Visited Beverley yesterday with two of my friends. It couldn't have been more welcoming. Such a welcome I have not had in a long time. They couldn't have put themselves out enough. Great hospitality. I shall definitely visit again! ” |
“ | Flew down from Northumberland last Friday in a Eurostar. Concise PPR briefing and on arrival grass runway proved to be in very good condition despite it being mid-winter. First class welcome and though the cafe is generally only open at weekends, excellent bacon sandwiches were duly produced by our generous hosts. Airfield run-about car is available to drive into town if you have your own third party extension cover. £3 microlight landing fee ('donation') is great value. Locals were very friendly bunch with a good mix of BMAA, LAA and GA characters making our short stay a most enjoyable one. We'll be back soon! ” |
“ | Finally got up to Beverley from the south coast after a number of attempts that were frustrated by the weather. Worth the wait.
Very easy to find. it was very busy when we were there but Beverley "Radio" handled it all with ease.
Good runway, helpful locals,(I had to replace a split inner tube). Landing fees were voluntary but this is certainly an airfield to be supported.
Kitchen was busy when we were there.

“ | Arrived at the end of the day to a really friendly welcome. Runway is in great condition and pleasantly wide. Evening meal was delicious. Computer available during normal hours for planning. Great place. ” |
“ | I recently visited Beverley while on Fly-UK 2010 in my Ikarus C42, in company with another C42, and the reception we received was excellent. We were welcomed, fed, given a lift in and out of Beverley and even had a cooked breakfast the following morning. If you want to visit an airfield with good reception and excellent food then visit Beverley. ” |
“ | My first visit last week, in the snow. Got PPR but never read the guide and did a southern circuit (doh, Leconfield rescue helicopters to the south). They were very polite about it and it turned out to be a nice friendly place. ” |
“ | We visited Beverley for the first time this afternoon. We found the local landmarks OK but picking out the airfield (grass strip) amongst the flat local fields was a bit tricky. Still, shouldn't be a problem next time. A great welcome and loads of good advice from the local pilots. Good sandwiches, chips, and great value. The runway was a bit bumpy but in view of all the recent rain was in remarkably good condition. I thoroughly recommend Beverley if you are in the area. We will certainly be going back. ” |
“ | Visited Beverley for the first time yesterday, and was pleasantly surprised. Superb runways, great radio service and friendly and helpful staff, who rustled up a late lunch for my passenger and I. I can wholeheartedly recommend this airfield for microlights and Group A alike. ” |
“ | Good airfield, very very friendly. Have a mix of microlights, paramotors, helicopter and fixed wing.
Field has been a bit wet over the winter, but still accepting fixed wing visitors with PPR on instructions for landing.
I visited in a PA-28 and a C150 without any problems.
The facilities are ok, but are due for upgrade, but the airfield seems to have people around everyday of the week which is excellent, the staff are great know how to look after visitors. ” |
“ | visited Beverley on saturday nice friendly airfield easy to find well worth a visit ” |
“ | Just moved to Beverley to learn. The atmosphere and camaradarie is fantastic. I would advise any pilot to give Beverley a visit. ” |
“ | We took a PA28 (3up) and a C172 (2up) into Beverley for our first foray into this neck of the woods and what a positive experience. Our intial call for PPR was warmly met and good advice given about using approach HDG 130 from a local lake - useful because the airfield isn't too easy to spot. Had no problem with the runway despite recent showers and a brisk wind (pretty much on runway heading). It looks like they are reinventing themselves because a lot of changes seem to have been implemented to good effect. Reception was very warm and although no restaurant (hence 3 score) they offered plenty of snacks and a free tea to all. ” |
“ | This is in my list of 3 top grass fields in Yorkshire. Trouble is that like so many it won't score highly as "atmosphere " doesn't get a score. The runway does get waterlogged occasionally but is a bowling green and immaculate. The cafe staff are just great and you get an A/G basic service only. Its quite an insular place, but then I quite like being left to my own devices. Certainly there are always people there who are local and can give the gen. Briefing facilities are limited. Snacks rather than meals are basic but wholesome. ” |
“ | The state of the "road" is not good, but it IS being rectified - it has recently had the holes filled, so your car suspension problems will be a thing of the past! ” |
“ | Stopped going there as the track to the main road was wrecking my mate's car suspension, no joking. Use Eddsfield now. ” |
