“ | Visited on Sunday 1st May, for the third time in the last couple of years. It's a very well maintained airfield with plenty of parking and easy access to the fuel bay. The food was very good, with great service from friendly staff. There were lots of families in the outside patio area all enjoying the fun in the sun. ATC (Blackbushe Information) have seemed rather tense on each visit, (perhaps it's me) but everything flows well enough in the busy circuit. For us it's an ideal destination; we will be back. ” |
“ | Flew into Blackbushe in a PA28 - the landing fee was £24.72 incl. VAT. That would be my only negative observation. The AFIS service was helpful and friendly, the standard of the food in the cafe was great and reasonably priced. I didn't use any of the pilot briefing facilities so can't comment on those. ” |
“ | Visited Blackbushe yesterday for the first time, very good AFIS, good facilities but very expensive landing fee and the cafe did not take cards which shortened my stay. Would not visit again unless i was visiting area due to landing fee. ” |
“ | As a student pilot out of WAP, Blackbushe became a firm favourite - great runway, easily identifiable, well priced, warm welcome during stressful cross countries. I returned today having gained my PPL (in my very own 1/13th of a piper archer!) and was charged a £24 landing fee. Having questioned this I was also told the weekend discount no longer applies - I won't be going back ” |
“ | Far too expensive now £23.50 for a Jodel . come on . How do you work that cost out. ” |
“ | Weekday charges are indeed high, but it's worth bearing in mind that the weekend rate remains at £7.50 including VAT, and is thus a very reasonable weekend destination for a London airfield (see Pooleys). ” |
“ | Have been a frequent vistor to Blackbushe as it provides a nice challenging little sorte from Fairoaks when not much else is on due weather or whatever. Went on Saturday the 3rd April and paid the very reasonable £7.50 landing fee for a PA28. Went on Monday the 5th April and got stung for the new outrageous landing fee of £23.50 which is payable if you don't avail yourself of the Blackbushe services like fuel uplift. I will most certainly not be going back to Blackbushe as the airfield does not offer anything that justifies such a landing fee. Be warned! The landing fee is up three fold and there is no change in service - best to avoid if you prefer to use your hard earned money for aviating. ” |
“ | Flew into Blackbushe on Wednesday 19th August as part of a visit to the AAIB at Farnborough. (Couldn't arrange a 2nd mortgage in time to fly into Farnborough.....)
The service inbound and outbound from Benson/Farnborough radar was great and the tower service was good.
The airfield itself was easy to spot (but quite close to Farnborough) and the circuits, avoiding the noise sensitive areas, no problem.
The airfield was busy and the refuelling quick and efficient (and no landing fee as we bought over 50 litres of fuel).
The airfield looked partly disused (which of course it is on the North side), but the active main runway was in very good condition and the taxi-ways were well marked and parking very well organised.
We called into the cafe on our return and got an excellent cup of Earl Grey. Food looked good, but we just grabbed a cuppa.
Closing time seemed quite early (18.00 local), but perhaps they have planning restrictions - not sure. However, well worth a visit and easy to get to from the North (we came in from Blackpool). ” |
“ | Visited Blackbushe on Thursday 2nd April. Great service from radio and good runway. Routed from north through Brize and no problems with left base
£10 landing fee and good cafe. (Only had time for coffee) Great location for west London area. Will visit again ” |
“ | First visit to Blackbushe yesterday and a very good experience it was to. Excellent Fiso who welcomed us on landing and guided us to visitor parking. The cafe was good and reasonably priced, will definately visit again in the summer. The landing fee didn't apply as I had a free landing voucher which was accepted without question. ” |
“ | Went to Blackbushe for the first time this weekend.
Very good runway and the landing fee was reasonable at £7.50 for the Jabiru.
Decent Cafe, run by the Blackbushe Pilots Association themselves.
Worth a visit. watch out the for noise sensative areas and the immediately adjacent MATZ and Farnborough airspace though. I routed straight over farnborough both ways, talking to farnbourough West and had no problems.

“ | The Restaurant at Blackushe has once again been taken over by new management, along with the bar. The new service will be available from Thursday 22nd March. Please come along and let us know what you think. ” |

“ | Thank you to Blackbushe Information for such a wonderful service when I flew in after the heavens had opened. Very helpful radar service from Farnborough, and pleasant with it. The food in the restaurant was superb - just what was needed after my first wet landing. ” |
“ | Great place to go, easy to spot watch out for Odium and Farnborough in close prox. Cheap Landing fee at weekends and good coffee. No problems here. ” |
“ | went to blackbushe today 9.1.05 ,easy to see due to auction site and market on a sunday .landing fee was great just £5, it was just a short hop from my home field of denham but due to the forcast of strong winds in the afternoon thought i would give it a go,glad i did.the tower were good as i made afew mistakes on the radio which are to embarrassing to mention but they were really good.just had time for a quick coffee before heading back ,next time i need somewhere close will go there again. brian fieldhouse egld. ” |
“ | I flew into Blackbushe last weekend. Only stopped for a coffee but everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Landing fee reasonable too, in my view. ” |
