Visited Boston Airfield on 21/08/2019 in G-ROLY a C172 based at Netherthorpe. I was passenger for this particular flight and we had tried to land here previously as it was very near a local AME for our class 1 medicals. Unfortunately on that occasion the weather was against us but today the weather was nearly perfect for a 3 airfield land-away day. PPR was easy to arrange and initially the airfield could be difficult to spot from the air so a look on Google Earth might be beneficial prior to departure. Upon landing we were met by the owner in the friendly clubhouse and tea and coffee was offered. After a short break and toilet stop it was time to head for our next destination. The airfield is slightly unusual in that it sits next to rugby fields and for this reason PPR is a good idea. We will certainly be back on the next Class 1 renewal as this is a long drive by car but a relatively short flight in the Cessna!
