Turning Final runway 10 at Branscombe during the Devon Strut Fly In - Fog on the coast

Flew to Branscombe yesterday in my mates Pioneer. After a small delay due to coastal fog we took off in 23 degree heat and found the journey super smooth with virtually no turbulence at all. We arrived to coastal fog up to and level with the top of the cliffs (photo to follow) what a fantastic view. The Devon Strut Fly In was hardly advertised at all, even still, about 40 aircraft turned up. Landing fees are normally £40 - £50 ish so was good value for money when we were told it was just £5. What a wonderful spot !! We were parked on the camping field just off the runway in between trees used to segregate the tents. We just wanted to stay there forever.

Tea, coffee, cold drinks, bacon rolls and burgers were coming out of our ears as much as you wanted and all INCLUDED in the landing fee. Had there been a charity tin or contribution tin we would not have minded one bit to contribute. Fantastic, now that's how to have a fly in.

And guess what......I was wearing my UKGA T-Shirt !!!!
