“ | Flew into Burnham today and a short walk to The Lord Nelson for a Sunday Lunch. Firstly a very warm welcome and helpful brief from Barry the owner of the Airfield. The airfield is a slight upslope but not a problem as its in such a good condition and very wide, the grass is short and very even.
We had a fantastic day , the first real day of sunshine this year .
Thank you to all and will look forward to returning to this great airfield. ” |

“ | Lovely airstrip at the top end of Norfolk, approx. 520 metres in length and quite wide along all the length. Slopes up west to east from the 09 end for first 30% length. Well-kept, short grass when we visited... a short walk (10 mins) to the village and its historic pub, the "Lord Nelson". ” |

“ | Burnham Thorpe airfield is in fact a farm strip belonging to the owners of the Whitehall Farm B&B in Burnham Thorpe. I do not have the exact particulars but have walked the length of the strip. It is about 400 metres, maybe less, on a slope rising to the east. There is a wind sock, and the strip is well mown, but there is little air traffic. The owners sold their own plane, and the village is unfriendly towards air traffic. However, the owners said that discreet visits by GA pilots were encouraged, particularly if staying at the B&B and therefore "visiting friends". Burnham Thorpe and the surrounding area are absolutely beautiful and well worth the visit. Nearby Holkham Beach is one of the best in England. ” |
