“ | Dropped into Chilbolton on my way back from Devon. According to latest flight guides no longer PPR.
Make blind calls on SafetyCom and keep your eyes peeled. Its under the MATZ stub so call Boscombe Zone on the way in.
411m long but an easy approach for 06, however there are some power cables on 24 approach. Runway was rather bumpy but all pretty manageble in the Jabiru SK, REMOS and Jabiru ULs that flew in with me.
No facilties to speak of so sign the book and leave your landing fee. ” |

“ | A friendly grass strip airfield, situated just to the NW of solent CTR, lots of history, once part of a bigger WW2 airbase. No radio, contact Boscombe down zone 126.70. Rwy 24L and 06R, caution powerlines before Rwy24, and along S. side of runway.06 slight down grad. 411m, ample room for microlights! Paul robinson. oh, PPR! ” |
