Coal Aston Airfield (EGCA)
Hi,Mike Sollit who originally updated our airfield info is no longer with us. I'd like to clarify that the SafetyCom frequency needs changing to 135.480 and also could you mention that we now have Radio Controlled modelers based at our airfield so use of SafetyCom is essential. They have an airband radio when using the strip and provided they hear incoming traffic they will vacate the strip to allow landings.
Also we now have a portacabin where landing fees can be paid rather than trekking down to the farmhouse.
Many thanks

“ | We now have an R/C model club based at Coal Aston so please use SafetyCom at all times. When they are flying they do listen out on radio for incoming calls and will vacate the strip for landing aircraft. Please always conduct an overhead join for joining the circuit. There is also a portacabin where visiting pilots can sign in and pay landing fees, but if unmanned the farmhouse is down the track. If manned, tea & coffee is usually available. Cow infestation is virtually nil these days as the strip is fenced off from them. So all microlights, single engined always welcome. Some twins will be able to get in but please check via PPR first. Thanks. ” |
