Pilot reviews of Crowfield Airfield
“ | Crowfield is without a doubt the friendliest little airfield I have been in to recently. I had to attend a funeral nearby on a wet Thursday afternoon in October and the guys running it not only opened on a foul day but lent me their 4x4 to get to the funeral. Now that's service over and above the call of duty. Wholeheartedly recommended. Wattisham will radio you all the way in to the field and I contacted them before I started my take-off run as I was about to fly through their ILS in a close approximation to IMC (it was a foul day). This is how GA should be. ” |
“ | Very nice grass airfield with a good clubhouse. unfortunately no food is available however there is tea and coffee and the welcome is very friendly.
The 760m runway is in excellent condition with wide open approaches from both directions so its a good one if you want to start getting into the world of grass strips having trained at the larger airports.
Its on the edge of the Wattisham MATZ zone stub is essential to call Wattisham approach on way in before talking to Crowfield traffic, and out.
Landing fee was £10 ” |
