“ | We landed at Cumbernauld on 12th May 12 in our Cessna 150, and enjoyed a good lunch at the airfield cafe. The landing was uneventful but on take off the surface wind had increased to about 330 at 10 gusting 20 knots. Taking off on runway 26 we hit significant wind shear with loss of airspeed. I don't know whether this is common with the wind in that direction but would advise caution anyway. ” |

“ | To get a top notch welcome at Cumbernauld you need to talk football s*** to Kenny (if he is still there). There are two teams in Scotland (you may already know this) one is blue and one is green. The other colours can safely be ignored. Sometimes the blue team allows the green team to win, same as letting monkeys win, and vice versa. The other colours get to play with each other and with the blue and green teams from time to time. Home matches with the blue and green teams attract excessive crowds and pays for the expenses the rest of the year. Kenny understands all this. The last time I was there there was a gallous lass who knew how to keep southerners in their place . That meant anyone south of Antonnine's, not Hadrian's Wall ” |

“ | Recently flew into Cumbernauld for the first time.
a first rate facility. Landing fees and services offer great value compared with PF and PH if you can take the short runway and the pax can find it, give it a try !!!! A friendly place to land ” |
