For anyone visiting North Devon Eaglescott is a real blessing.
Not only is the grass runway a reasonable length for most light singles, but it is well maintained with fuel (100LL) available at a good price.
I have flown in from Elstree several times to find a very warm welcome, low landing fees and cheap overnight parking. There is active gliding and micro-light activity at the airfield and the flying club have also arranged for YAK's to fly in for something different for members to fly.
Overall, it is a great place to visit, with some food avalailable at week-ends. However, given the nature of the Devon countryside, it helps to have a GPS to find it by air (although a radio station clsoe by helps), while finding it from the ground for a non-local is even worse!
Enjoy... it is a really friendly place
