I satisfied a long held desire to land here, virtually at my childhood home, having flown from Wycombe Air Park. It only took three days to get there but that wasn't the fault of the airfield.
The welcome is very friendly. I had visited (by road) previously and had names and numbers and throughout my tribulationd getting there I was given continual assistance by the staff.
A fabulous historic site - adjacent to the museum exhibiting the Scotish Concorde - with a Vulcan, Comet and 1-11 out on the old apron.
The runways are short and the noise abatment needs to be paid attention to but it was easy enough in my Eurostar. Wonderful landscape and coastline nearby.
