Dropped into Eggesford in Tiger Moth G-ANFM to refuel on our way to and from the West Country, and also to see old friend Richard Webber. Very friendly and helpful airfield and a mecca if you love vintage aeroplanes, especially Austers.

Very enjoyable visits and look forward to going back.

A nice little airfield situated in in a beautiful location. I landed on 29 and was quite surprised how steep the upslope was. in retrospect with the 10 - 15 knot headwind I could have easily landed on the level middle section. Not much in the way of facilities however the some of the resident pilots did make us a cup of tea. a number of aircraft are based there. Quite easy to spot but check the web site for circuit information as there is a village and some local houses to be avoided. PPR required and landing fees are a donation into the "honesty jar".

My last visit in June 2008,and many attempts since then I’ve finally with another pilot managed to visit Eggesford again on Friday 1 July 2011. We had a great day checking out the vintage aircraft and taking many photos after which we walked to the Garden Centre for a meal, had a good lunch and walked back to airfield. Anyone who has been to eggesford will understand what I mean about walking to and from the garden centre. Hope to visit again soon.

Very friendly airfield, and a life saving location when moors wx suddenly forces a precautionary landing ;-)

Talking to Exeter and advised needed to make precautionary landing at egesford as hemmed in by low forming cloud. Very friendly despite no prior PPR due to circumstances.

Most welcome cup of tea too.

Found Eggesford by mistake on my NavBox Quick Plan, went on the Internet and liked what I found. Contacted Eggesford by telephone and arranged a visit, cancelled twice due to bad weather. I have friends living within 10 miles of the field and arranged to take them for a flight. It turned out to be a great day with good weather and Exeter App put me right over the field. I'm looking forward to my next flight.

Operation through Eggesford was a delight - the friendliest of welcomes, nothing too much trouble - no landing or overnight parking charges, voluntary donation only. Highly recommended for an out-of-the-way stop.

A very friendly and hospitable airstrip to visit with friendly and helpful 'flying people'. Cosy atmosphere with tea and fuel availalable and home to many Austers and other aircraft. Advisable weekdays to call Exeter R/F 128-975 for info. on military low-level traffic activity.

Slightly unusual uphill end to runway 11 and advisable to consult Lockyears with regard to instruction for strong SW wind for runway 29. A 'must' airfield to visit if ivisting Devon and Cornwall.
