Enstone Airfield

I am a glider pilot from Bedfordshire and was on an out-and-return task with Enstone airfield as my turn point.

I ran out of height over the airfield and was forced to land un-announced on a busy Sunday afternoon.

I found everyone I met to be friendly and helpful in the extreme.

They helped me manhandle my glider from where it landed to a position out of the way and later when my aerotow retrive arrived, move it into position and then helped by launching the tug and glider combo.

So, thank you everyone for your help, it made my out landing memorable for all the right reasons.

Tue 15 Jun - Stephen Nuttall - 0.5 NM North of Inskip VRP - Fly from Blackpool

Flew in after a 13 minute flight from Finmere. Three parallel runways in use and a very friendly welcome from Oxfordshire Sport Flying Club, with a free tea and iced bun thrown in! The clubhouse was lovely and charming and reminded me of Beverley in the homeliness of the place.

What a lovely place to fly from for those based there. I think that there are quite a few local walks, so I must take the greyhounds next time and see what we can find.

Another great destination with good runways, parking and clubhouse, plus friendly locals. Well worth a visit to soak up the atmosphere of a proper flying club in a beautiful location.
