Pilot reviews of Errol Airfield
“ | I have been back to Errol since delivering G-BBRX and measured the Runway for clarity of runway length.... the runway is over 850mtrs long of which 750mtrs is certainly useable if taking off on R/W 22 and there is 810mtrs useable if taking off on R/W 04
The unuseable part could be restored to useable if the weeds/reeds were removed. ” |
“ | I flew into Errol on Friday 14th October 2005 on the Delivery Flight of G-BBRX to the New Owners, I was told the Runway was 1000mtrs long though I would estimate it at about 600-630mtrs.
The approach to Runway 22 is unobstructed and gives a very nice approach. Note that the G.A. Aircraft based at Errol are parked either side on the Displaced Pan of R/W22. The Approach to Runway 04 is over a part of Runway covered by Caravans and does obstruct the Approach and needs to be considered when using R/W04. The Runway surface does have some loose stones, but nothing significant to affect any take off or landing. The Airfield is used primarily for Parachuting purposes and PPR is required. # PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A 'PILOT REVIEW' AND ALL RUNWAY MEASUREMENTS AND RUNWAY DIRECTIONS ARE APPROXIMATIONS #
