Visited Finmere on 18th January 2020 and parked for about two hours.
We were told that there used to be a microlight school there, which might be why the airfield got the 'M' designation. Also, the published circuit is very tight, although a relaxed 1 nm circuit to the south comfortably avoids all the noise sensitive areas.
Finmere is now a thriving mix of microlights, certified aircraft and aero modellers, so the airfield is very inclusive.
Hangarage is available at the time of writing this.
The concrete runway has a 10 m wide strip of perfect tarmac down the middle. The taxiways are similarly refurbished and clear of stones.
The reception was very welcoming and the whole place is immaculate. There is tea in the crew room and a very good pub / restaurant just over a mile along the footpath in Finmere.
PPR is by telephone or text from Vanessa Taite, the airfield owner: 07740 840181.
Do go.
