“ | Flew in today with a mate for a quick lunch stop. What a fantastic place! Lunch in The Aviator was delicious and everybody was extremely friendly and helpful. I'm already looking forward to visiting again. ” |
“ | I visited Fishburn for the first time today, and I will definitely be heading back again soon - its a very friendly place ! I enquired about the Landing Fee and was told there was no landing fee if I ate at the "Aviator" - which was a nice touch. Airfield is well laid out and looks to be very well looked after. The grass was nice and short and the RT response when I was inbound was good - though its not always manned, so be prepared to blind call. The runway is interesting, as it has a significant slope. I had lunch at the "Aviator Café / Restaurant" and have to say it was good and tasty.....I will be visiting the airfield again in the near future. ” |
“ | Flew into Fishburn for the weekend from Kemble, easy to find airfield and the landing information I received on a survey visit a few weeks earlier, from a club member, was spot on, "it's easy son, just be 1500' over that quarry chimney straight into downwind no problem'. The runways have a bit of a slope but well maintained as is the parking area. The welcome from Beryl, her son and members is warm and friendly, the downside is I never had time to sample the wonderful smelling bacon butties. I recommend visiting Fishburn, and make time for the butties! ” |
“ | First time in here although I have spoken to Eric Bentley many times on the phone.
Berly was very welcoming and had fuel ready for us as soon as we arrived.
Nice strip and one I will definitely visit again. ” |
“ | Fishburn is the best airfield in the world!!
Friendly people who welcome visitors from everywhere. Worth a visit just for the 'coffee cake' !!! and Beryl's BLT sandwiches. You will be guaranteed a warm welcome here.

“ | A beautiful little airfield. Well worth visiting just for the chat with the locals and a very interesting selection of visiting aircraft. My landing fee was waived as I filled up with fuel. Note there is a 1.6% upslope on 26 and although in good condition, flat it aint. The strange black dots just North of the runway on Pooley’s plate are a row of hangars, which made the field relatively easy to find when I realised what they were. ” |
“ | Fabulous little airfield. Interesting technical problems, good facilities, nice place to stop off on an afternoon out. The runway does all sorts of slopes at once which is hillarious but it is in good condition as are the parking areas. the A/G is typical small strip, intermittant but functional. If you need R/T at places like this .... I seem to recall the landing fee was insignificant and it may even have been free for Sherburnites. I spent over two hours here just chatting to the locals who I had never met, being topped up with coffee and sampling some truly excellent Chocolate Cake (homemade with abundant icing). There was a briefing stuff somewhere i recall but it wasn't obvious. ” |
“ | Visited on 18th June 2005 in C150, a very friendly place, good sandwiches, well worth a visit. ” |
