    In brief...

1 Feb 10: Gamston cafe "The Apron" open

    Ivana Alvares - Retford
Gamston Cafe "The Apron" has been opened a few months and many people based at other airfields / airports do not know. Everyone is welcome! The food is fantastic and the Cafe facilities are great. Internet access (WIFI) is available in the Cafe however internet access is also available in the lounge for pilots. The Cafe is opened everyday and on weekends. Its a great place to hang out even if the weather is poor. The people and staff are very friendly!

I fly from Gamston. Note that the Diamond cafe closed at the end of March 08 (probably too out of the way to attract enough customers). Hopefully someone else will set up shop as the bacon butties etc will be missed. Meanwhile there is the usual tea/coffee/snacks from the vending machine in the visitors lounge area.

I may be biased, but I find Gamston is a very efficient businesslike GA airport. There is no club, or clubby atmosphere, but I want to fly, not socialise.
