Garston Farm Airfield Photos

Flew into Garston Farm direct from Halfpenny Green (6th March). Easy to locate from the north - which is the recommended approach! No activity at nearby RAF Colerne. Gentle uphill landing on 27. Plenty of parking - and owner makes you welcome. Couple of other visitors/residents including a hangar with an interesting mix of aircraft. Highly recommended but please do follow procedures.

Flew in with Keith Rotheram in an Archer. Met Jeff Ball the owner and his son Mike. A lovely strip, firm and well drained. Follow the instructions on the web site and you cannot go wrong. Make sure you are fully aware of the circuit pattern and noise abatement procedures. Marshfield village is only 10-15 min walk away. There is a choice of pubs and a nice cafe on the high street for food. A typical stone built village with alms houses and well worth seeing.

Only an hour flying time from Liverpool John Lennon, but a different world.

Bath is wonderful to fly over -- very picturesque. In the bottom of the photo you can see Royal Crescent and most of The Circus.
