Visited Haverfordwest (EGFE) from Netherthorpe (EGNF) on 26/10/2012 in G-ROLY a C172 based at Netherthorpe with Phoenix.
The flight routing was TNT DCT SWB DCT WELSHPOOL DCT.
We climbed to VMC on top for much of the journey to clear most of Wales. Haverfordwest was easy enough to find and after the traffic service from Shawbury we had a basic service from West Wales airport as the danger areas were not active.
Haverfordwest was easy to find and landing into wind on runway 03. Shame to see moss growing on the runways, such a large airfield and I am sure it could be used more. It is the ideal stepping stone for Ireland and offers some really good advice on it’s website. We paid the £15 landing fee and headed to the restaurant for breakfast which was very nice indeed and great value.
We were offered the public PC to log in to AFPEx for the return flight in the tower building. The crew in the tower seemed pretty miserable, maybe just a bad day.
Not very many movements on the airfield but we do plan on revisiting hopefully on a trip to Ireland.
