Pilot reviews of RAF Honington
12 Apr 11 -
Gus Cabre - RAF Coltishall
“ | Officially, no longer an RAF flying station but is still home to the RAF Regiment. The RAF Flying Clubs' Association (RAFFCA) have a club there (2xPa28s, 1xCap 10) and some microlights. Runway in perfect state despite of the number of crosses on it. PPR is imperative as still used by RAF and Army rotary. Blind calls is NATO standard Twr freq 122.10. For non-RAFFCA aircraft, standard MOD landing fees apply. ” |

“ | RAF base. Arrived 09. Call Lakenheath Matz and blind calls at Honington. PPR a must. We were the only movement at the field then entire day. It is virtually disused by the RAF, no facilities whatsoever but a warm welcome ” |
