Cotswold Airport (EGBP)
Kemble is, so far, an exciting development for GA. It used to be an RAF base -- former home of the Red Arrows — and was bought by a local business man who committed the airfield to a great programme of development.
There's no doubt at all that the Kemble team is great at events. Even the most popular days, attracting thousands of visitors, run with clockwork efficiency. It's not surprising that the PFA chose Kemble for its annual rally.
There are lots of attractions at Kemble, such as fly-ins, the Great Vintage Flying Weekend, Kemble Air Day. Put it on your "must-go" list!

In brief...
3 Nov 12: BAC move
Owing to the closure of Filton in 21st December 2012 , after 18years, 5months and 2days the Bristol Aero Club " BAC" 'moved' from Filton Bristol to Cotswold Airport (Kemble).
23 Nov 11: The Flying Club Kemble
The Flying Club Kemble has suspended trading, not to be confused with the Kemble Flying Club. A letter was posted in their office window explaining the suspension, stating that rising fuel costs, reduction in available flying hours at Kemble and fewer hours flown by members meant the business was not viable. Other schools and clubs onsite all seem to be thriving and still in business.
12 Sep 11:
Delta Jets are no longer in business.
6 Nov 10: AV8 update
The restaurant AV8 is now under new management and is undergoing major refurbishment. An express service for pilots needing a quick turnaround is promised, alongside a wider range of quality meals and drinks.
Latest review
“ | Visited Kemble on 28th July. Extremely helpful staff both in the tower and working the ops desk. Landing fee is very good considering the size of airport and condition of the runway, better than some international airports I've flown into.
The recently reopened AV8 cafe is very well decorated and the food is well priced and very tasty. Staff are pleasant and the restaurant has a lovely view of the runway.
Very much recommended and will visit again. ” |
