Pilot reviews of Kennel Farm - Warlingham Airfield
“ | Having spent my childhood from the 1950's and 1960's in Meadway which is just to the back of the what was the airfield, qwe spent many a time playing in the disused hanger and the two air raid shelters, the hanger was of a metal type with breze block internal walls, which were divided up into about ten roosm or so, with a large service area of the aircraft, both front and back had a large concrete hard standing area, and about a 100 yards away there was a large crator which we call the bomb hole, having made a recent visit to the area a year or so ago, it was to my horror that I discovered the hanger had been removed, the air raid shelters were no longer there and the bomb hole filled in, what a shame to loose some of our History ” |
