Flew into Laddingford a couple of days ago - another short flight from Biggin to gain some valuable short strip experience and visit somewhere different from the usual suspects. This is a gem of a strip situated in idyllic surroundings in rural Kent. I phoned for PPR and was duly given permission and told to call blind on safety com 134.75 For a farm strip it is relatively easy to locate being next to the railway line. Runway is more than adequate at 750m 29/11 for my trusty steed for the day, G-BRAK a C172. Trees at both ends and the r/w is quite narrow so be aware of what the wind is doing, but really pretty straightforward. I parked in front of a house, where I apparently wasn't supposed to and was duly ticked off, so basically, just taxi to their hangar area and park there.
This is taildragger/kitplane territory and I kind of got the impression that me in dear old BRAK and my (inadvertently still on) regulation Biggin high viz weren't really the most welcome of visitors. Shame because this is a lovely spot. Come on guys - as they say at Sainsburys: Try something different! Landing fee good value at a fiver. Can't comment on the standard of their tea as I wasn't offered one.
