“ | Flew from Lincolnshire where London Information activated our Flight Plan and were exceptionally helpful whilst airborne. Transited Southend, controllers were very helpful and we didn't have any trouble transiting the airspace. Lille West were friendly and quick to hand us over to Le Touquet who although switched runways did it early enough. Landing fees rather expensive at 30 Euro and fuel at 2.40 Euro /ltr. Otherwise this was a great flight and visit to the local town. ” |
“ | Visited Le Touquet 24/07/2018 from Lydd via SOVAT
Easy to find and RH cct for RWY 31, probably best to contact Lille before trying to contact Le Touquet as there was no ATC and minimal ATIS available at Le Touquet around 11OOhrs UTC. In effect it was an unmanned airfield, which required a good look out and transmission of position and listening to other calls, which then makes one wonder what the Euro 30 landing fee is for. Custom and handling fine, restaurant good and makes a good day out. ” |
“ | I used to go to Le Touquet back in the 70's from Southend. Used to land have a cup of coffee and fly back, I can never remember paying a landing fee, perhaps the flying club had an arrangement? Maybe I just bilked it without knowing?? ” |
“ | No one seems to have reviewed Le Touquet for a little while so thought I'd update! Flight from Kemble to Le Touquet by three international virgins, in a Robin DR400. Routed out over Lydd. I flew the return leg. Flight Plans and GAR submitted via Skydemon, couldn't be easier. Customs at Le Touquet by E-mail the day before. Flight couldn't have been easier all en route LARS most helpful. Le Touquet tower was great although the ATIS was a tad fast in both French and English and needed three pairs of ears to ensure we got it right. On the ground, was hoping for the famed follow me cyclist but must have been his day off. Instructions from tower very easy "park anywhere Monsieur it's all the same price!". Reception excellent, closed flight plan for us, refuelled whilst we were in town. NB don't forget to tell them which tanks you want filling if you are weight critical. My colleagues insisted we used the bikes, I'd not ridden a bike for donkey's years. But it was the best thing, we saw far more of the town that way, definitely recommended So much choice in the town to eat and relax. On return to airport plane refuelled and bill waiting. Return flight just as good as outward, however I did get confused when handed over to Lille and called Lydd, but no one seemed to mind. Now we've done it we can't wait to do more international! Go for it is my advice! ” |
“ | Lots of reviews, so won't repeat what already said, but show it on the video. So watch instead: Flight to Le-Touquet-Paris-Plage (LFAT) France revisited

“ | Flew into Le Touquet again today afer a 6 year gap and its as good as ever
Very easy to find with its long hard runway sitting just next to the river estuary on the coast. ATC are super efficent and deal with English just as well as French which makes things easy.
The reception desk closed the incoming flight plan and placed and activated the outgoing, so things couldn't be more straightforward. It's a 2 hour notice for customs and that can be done by e-mail - just get the free airfield plate off of the SIA website (french plates are free, go to www.sia.aviation-civile.gouv.fr/default_uk.htm ) to find the e-mail and fax info. Landing fees for the Jabiru were good - 11 euros, not sure how much it would be for a 172 or PA28.
We walked into the town and had lunch on the sea front - it's about 2 miles - but there is bike hire available (or of course taxis). There is also a good restaurant on site.
This is the perfect airfield for anyone contemplating their first jaunt across the channel - London Info will hand you over to Lille info mid channel and Lille will pass you on the Le Touquet somewhere around Boulogne. Go for it!
I shall return sooner this time ” |
“ | Flew there last weekend. Easy to find, just fly over Dover for 10 minutes then turn right! The guy on ATC was superb, switching effortlessly between French and English. Paperwork all very straighforward as was ATC for return journey despite our broken transponder. Euro 25 for a PA28. ” |
“ | Went to Le Touquet yesterday. Still a nice easy place to find and a good place to visit from the UK, if a bit busy at weekends. The landing fee seems to have gone up in recent years and was €25, which given the state of the UK £ makes it fairly expensive.
There's only one runway so expect a gusty crosswind when landing.
It's still a nice friendly airfield with a good ATC . On the way back they spoke to us as far as Boulougne and then asked us to change to enroute. ” |
“ | A very nice trip, bike renting a plus ! ” |
“ | Not a lot to say apart from another great day, Flew direct from Fairoaks via Sevenoaks and Lydd.
ATC were as frendly as usual, nothing appeared a problem, including refuelling.
We visited on a Monday, and to our suprise it was market day, with all the hussle and bussle of a French market town fabulous atmosphere, great sea food lunch, and a walk back to the airfield..really great day and highly recommended.

“ | Finanally made it again to Le Touquet, after 3 failed attempts to get across the channel. myself and 2 friends walked down the town and found a fantastic fish resturant, athough the town shops were shut on Saturday afternoon, there were plenty of cafes and resturants open, we ended up walking back to the airfield to walk off our excesses, great day out again. French ATC was good as was Farnbrough and London Info, The weather started to turn so I took advantage to their excellent pilot briefing facility, as great time was had by all. ” |
“ | Finally made it across the channel. Le Touquet is a very easy airfield to use with a good ATC and friendly staff. I know most people will recommend getting a cab into town but if you have the time and the fitness for a 30 minute walk I think it's worth while. The glamourous holiday homes set in thier sandy grounds with huge scots pine trees are worth seeing and your lunch will taste better after a walk anyway. The town is very attractive and there is a huge choice of places to eat or get a good coffee. This will be a regular visit for me now. ” |
“ | We flew into to Le Touquet yesterday from Fairoaks with another pilot friend, after 3 previous attempts ( due to weather) I finally made it across the channel, dispite all the rumours it was very straight forward. The paperwork was easy and French ATC at Le Touquet were very frendly and helpfull. We walked down to the sea front which took a good 20 mins for lunch, a lovely French seaside town with a great selection of eating houses. we should have either rented a bike or took a cab. Fantastic day out we could have stayed longer, but we will be returning very soon. ” |
“ | Flew into LeTouqet last Sunday- After 30 years flying my 1st time across the Channel!
I travelled with a member of the group I belong to who had done this before, so made things very easy. I would highly recommend this airfield; friendly staff, long tarmac runway, and excellent service. A visit into town is a must. Wish I'd done this years ago! ” |
“ | I flew into Le Touquet on Sunday the 27th Jan from North Weald, along with two other aircraft, the weather was fantastic. It was my first visit, so a student PPL's dream fullfilled at last. The welcome was great as their were ten of us they arranged for the airport minibus to take us into town where we had an excellent lunch.
After a stroll around the town the minibus returned at the appointed time to take us back to the airfield, all for 10 Euro's each, good value. The runway is great and the ATC very good english. A great day out and highly reccomended. ” |

“ | I flew to Le Touquet for the first time on 28th July, thus fulfilling an ambition that caused me to start flying in the first place 4 years ago. The idea of nipping across to this charming town for a spot of first class seafood for lunch just seemed like the coolest thing on earth to do.
Le Touquet is easy to spot, running adjacent to a large river. The ATC are v. friendly and quite happy to speak English. The runway is vast and easy to land on. The facilities are great. I hear that the restaurant n the airport os fab, but we wanted to ge into town. Getting into town was super-easy since there were about 50 seemingly brand new bikes for hire for a relatively small fee, and taxis outside.
All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable experience. ” |
“ | I am suprised that no reviews have appeared on here! Last time I visited, 17/18th seprtmber 2005, there seemed to be more G Reg planes on the apron than French Registered ones!
Very welcoming, both ATC (when they are there...they do not operate Sundays and Wednesdays!), and the terminal staff. ATC talk to you in English, but on non-ATC days you are expected to give your intentions in French. (Check the ATIS on the way over). Landing fees a bit steep (21 Euros), but on non ATC days they will close your flight Plan for you and every day they will fax off your return Plan. They also always ask if you want fuel and the truck comes and does the honours for yoy. Close to town, with a taxi-ride at about 8/10 Euros, or you can hire bikes at 3 Euros and hour, and up to 13 Euros a day. The walk is quite long 30-40 mins. The retsuarant at the airport is not bad, but very busy on Sunday lunch. Other times not bad. Plenty of others in town though.
All in all, a good place to start your 'over-seas' adventures. ” |
