| “ | Limoges Bellegarde is a major regional airport however we found it very welcoming to GA when I dropped in there with a friend in our Jabiru's whilst looking for fuel on our short French tour.
Excellent ATC and as its a commercial airport they will work in English. An ENORMOUS runway which is at 1300' amsl so lots of winding back on the altimeter to set the QFE, fuel is available on normal credit cards - a real plus point at the moment in France with the almost total dominance of automated Total machines.
Only issue is that you have to go "landside" to get to restaurants and then back through security to the "airside" to pay the landing fee(which in the case of our Jabirus was "no charge" as they did not have the type on the database.
so don't be put off by the size or the height - its a good one for the log book and an excellent place to re-fuel ” |
