Pilot reviews of Longside
“ | Flew up to Longside last weekend taking advantage of the good weather. No traffic at the time so was cleared to fly straight in. The guys were extremely welcoming and enthusiastic and I was shown round the hangar prior to departure. There are all the usual facilities were there for a visitor - tea/coffee, toilets and chat! Well worth a visit. ” |
“ | The airfield is a bit run down and very quiet, and areas of the taxiiway are in poor condition. The Runway could do with some repairs also. The clubhouse here is a bit past it's sell by date. In all, i don;t expect to see this place staying open much longer due to the state of the place and the ever increasing numbers of wind turbines. No fuel available, seems to be a bit of an issue if there is a landing fee or it's an "donation". There seems to be some unusual arrangement on how the place is run or owned. ok as a one off visit, but nothing there much to do there. ” |
