Had a jaunt over to Marshland today (Sunday) from Conington. Another new destination for the log book. Telephoned for PPR on Friday as it's office hours. Got a return call later to say 'no problem'. The airfield has a Grass 850m X 20m runway orientated 03/21. Trees on the approach to 03. 21 approach is clear. There is a wind sock but it's virtually invisible from the air. Circuits left hand. The surface is really good and level in most parts but beware of a hump across the runway about 100m from the 21 end. I never caught it on the landing but did on the take off. Could cause a problem if your not too aware. It threw me in the air prematurely! Runway does have fixed lighting. Radio was not manned. Only facilities on site are 100L fuel by arrangement. The airfield movement book is on the outside hangar wall. Enjoyed the visit and recommend, ideal for a picnic but would ask first. Oh and no landing fee
