Started flying from EGNF to have an alternative to my usual airfield at Sherburn.

The main 24/06 runway is not too short to be honest, the other one though is!

Sheffield Aero club has had some bad reviews with people not made to feel welcome there. I fly from Phoenix, but nicer place. Internet access and cheaper too!

Can get a bit boggy if been raining a lot but this is rare.

Come and visit!

This is a prototype Bulldog manufactured by British Aerospace in 1976, the only one with a retractable undercarriage.

It is lovingly maintained at netherthorpe by its owners at Dukeries Aviation.

Ginger Lacy, Battle of Britain fame, flew it on one occasion and described it to the owner as “Just like a Spit”.

Fancy a bit of a challenge? Netherthorpe (EGNF) aerodrome, yet another green field among many. The gap in the boundary hedge at the end of 24 has become wider over the years. Well worth a visit to a well run club with an excellent restaurant. As a point of interest runway 18/36 is the shortest licensed runway in the UK.
