Norwich Airfield (EGSH)
Coming from Switzerland with our HB-PBK, Norwich was our first destination in UK. Very well received by SAXON Handling company which charged us 30£ for their services plus 10£ of transportation which was not provided (without VAT). The landing fee for EGSH was 12£.
It worth to discover the very nice Air Museum north of airfield (about 4£ the entrance) with passionated volunteer guides showing us the Vulcan and other Aircrafts.
It is easy to rent a car in the main terminal to go downtown for about 35£ a day.

“ | Flew into Norwich on Monday 13 September to base ourselves and the greyhounds there until Saturday 18th. Saxon did the handling for us and made a big fuss of the dogs. Not cheap, (Just under £45 per landing/handling), but for a location like Norwich, very convenient and reasonable for what it is. We hired a car from Budget, (£229 for five days for a Golf), and for this convenience itself it was worth it.
Flew out to Clacton on the Thursday and the total costs from Saxonair at the end was £189.90 for two landings and five days parking. (About £20/day for parking - cheaper than parking a car in most big cities!)
There are cheaper airfields in Norfolk and very good they are too. but the convenience of Norwich Airport, car hire, and hotels trumped the lot.
Need I say how good the ATC was? Helpful, friendly, accommodating and professional. Could we ask for more?
Highly recommended, just remember it is an international airport with facilities and prices to match and you will find the costs fair. ” |
