Norwich Airfield (EGSH)

Submitted by: Patrick de Goumoens

Coming from Switzerland with our HB-PBK, Norwich was our first destination in UK. Very well received by SAXON Handling company which charged us 30£ for their services plus 10£ of transportation which was not provided (without VAT). The landing fee for EGSH was 12£.

It worth to discover the very nice Air Museum north of airfield (about 4£ the entrance) with passionated volunteer guides showing us the Vulcan and other Aircrafts.

It is easy to rent a car in the main terminal to go downtown for about 35£ a day.

Norwich Airfield accepts genuine emergency and precautionary diversions without charge per CAA CAP 667 9.2 (c) recommendations.

Regarding the information about landing fees at Norwich Airport.

Anglia Flight can now collect landing fees for visiting aircraft provided they are contacted prior to arrival by telephone. The cost for a C150 sized aircraft would be around £12.

I flew to Norwich today and loved it.

SaxoAir did the handling for £27 which was all right.

Nice lounge very friendly stuff, free drinks and biscuits. very cool and helpful ATC.

There is a bus stop 5 Minutes from SaxonAir terminal, with buses every 10 minutes to city centre. (I am not sure if they operate on Sunday)

In 20 Minutes I was in front of the Norwich Cathedral.

Lovely city, a lot of history and I loved the market near the castle.

Nice destination for a whole day visit.
