“ | Dropped into EGBN for a sandwich and cuppa. Nice cafe, nice food. Spoilt by the cafe creche though. Seems to be more of a nursery than an airfield eatery. If you like screaming uncontrolled kids then it's the place to be. ” |
“ | Flew into Nottingham from Netherthorpe on Friday 9th October, only my second visit, the first one being for a fuel stop about 9 years ago. Very easy to spot with very good runways and an excellent café serving good homemade food and cakes. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and the outside seating was busy on a lovely early autumn day. Good service from East Midlands in and out of the airfield. Recommended as a great café stop. ” |
“ | We flew into Tollerton late September 2014. ATC were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Staff in the café also were very pleasant and welcoming. Breakfast was nicely served, tasty and well priced. The airfield is easy to find and conveniently placed near Nottingham. Refuelling, parking and departure procedures were clear and uncomplicated. Certainly well worth re-visiting. ” |
“ | July 2014 - Recently visited Nottingham for a second time and as previously, a good A/G service, readily responding to inbound calls. Airfield has 2 good convenient runways and is close to the city for access. Cafe facilities much improved. Useful competitive aircraft refuelling on offer. Also the A/G service, very helpful in arranging prompt support for a problem, prior to our departure. Particularly recommended as a 'comfort stop' for long range cross country tourng. ” |
“ | Visited Nottingham 19th April during the Easter weekend. The airfield was easy to find on the outskirts of the city. East Midlands Class D CTA didn't begin until 2500 ft so there was ample room for a standard overhead join without contacting East Mid. ” |
“ | Came in to notingham on Monday from Sherburn in G-BODB, nice and easy to find, East midlands Aprouch were not bothered us going in, gave them a shout over head stoke on trent and then when we switched over to notingham radio. The girl manning the radio was very helpfull and every 1 was friendly who we came into contact with. The breakfast was well priced. Didnt see much in the way of briefing facilities. On departure departed on the crosswind leg of 21 circuit below East Mids Airspace over notingham before getting clearance to transit through their airspace to Chatsworth House. Good morning flight with no problems :) will be visting again at somepoint in the future. ” |

“ | Visited Nottingham for the second time yesterday and like last time there was a good A/G service. They ordered a taxi for me when i called 10miles out which was very helpful. Good runway and very well located for getting into the city centre which cost £1o each way. The gentleman in the tower was very helpful when i needed to use his fax machine to send insurance docs to Waddington. Would visit again! ” |
“ | Visited Nottingham for the first time today and was incredibly impressed by the friendliness of everyone there. Phoning for PPR had a great briefing and was told if needed a taxi to the city call in the radio 10 minutes out and one would be waiting - it was.
Nice cafe, easy to spot while several miles out.
I shall certainly make a point of visiting again - and a £12 landing fee very reasonable given its close proximity to a major UK city. ” |
“ | Visited last Saturday. Easy to spot, decent runways, easy parking, no stress. Nice choice of cakes or fried breakfast, good coffee at resonable prices. ” |
“ | Just back from Nottingham (Tollerton) what a great day for flying today! Phoned before hand and guy in the tower was very helpful indeed and informed me that they were unlicensed, due to a staff problem. On the way up got the usual excellent service from RAF Cottesmore and arrived to a very quiet airfield. Not a soul in the air. Met the guy I had spoken too earlier in the tower and had a chat. He apologised for the fact that the cafe was closed, well never mind eh. Quick break and back to Conington.........Lovely ” |
“ | Visited Nottingham today. Good radio and no problems with approach. Great surface on runway and a very very well maintained airfield. Late getting there and cafe had closed but decent coffee machine. Friendly enough and will definitely visit again. Good location for anyone visiting Nottingham City. Landing fee £10 for 1300kg aircraft.

“ | Been a couple of times - always helpful and frienly to me. ” |
“ | Have to jump to the defence of Tolly!... I think John maybe just caught a bad day, i have visited lots recently and there has always been ATC (A/G), not always food though but everyone is always friendly! Landing fees are about the norm and i have actually got a 3 for £15 deal so did 2 touch and go's on departure, ATIS always there (in hours) and are friendly and efficient, breifing facilities first class, all in all an airfiled on the up!.. ” |
“ | We were at EGBN yesterday and therefore not sure it was the same Nottingham that John Hammond was at .. but a gentleman called Dave was in the Tower when we arrived. We had a short wait for Fuel but had a coffee in the Cafe that was open. We met the CFI (Jim) who was very friendly and seems to run a good team. Very pleasant visit therefore and looking forward to our return. ” |
“ | Must have been a bad day, nobody in the tower when we called in, another plane picked us up on R/T.
Cafe closed, grumpy faced instructor when we asked for fuel which arrived 20 minutes later.
Shame it doesn't live up to the magazine add, will visit again at 2000ft next time! ” |
“ | A very good aerodrome, nice atmosphere there with low flying rates with the added bonus of the best bacon sandwich! ” |
“ | Easy to find..Friendly and a good bacon buttie....Well worth a visit. ” |
