Visited Sunday 18/11/2018. What a superb and welcoming airfield! Though grass the strip is like a billiard table, much smoother than many hard runways in the area and there is plenty of parking space alongside a row of chestnut trees. The club house has a spacious area with seating round a large table that wouldn't look out of place in a company boardroom and even has a chess set for, I suppose, rainy days. A covered veranda overlooks the runway and is ideal for passing an hour or more watching aeroplanes and chatting over a tea or coffee. We were treated to a lift to the village pub in nearby Oaksey village where we had an excellent Sunday lunch. The walk back to the airfield is an easy 1 mile stroll down a very quiet country lane.

This really is what all GA airfields should be like!

Tried to plan a trip here but they don't accept Microlights!! Bit of a shame as we wanted to use it as our overnight for fuel food camping etc! They could not tell us why do I assume we are just not welcome! I guess they're busy enough they can turn away our business but I'm sure we can find someone else who wants out company and our business.

John Anderson 07 2013. Oaksey Park airfield must be one of the very best to visit. Well maintained runways and a good welcome from Dick the airfield manager. Enjoy a tea or coffee etc, in the very comforable club room lounge, or just sit and relax on the terrace and view the general goings on at this delightful airfield. A must to revisit.

Flew over on the way to Kemble and decided to go take a quick look on the way home. Boy were we glad we did. This is a little diamond of an airfield just South of Kemble. Has noise sensitive neighbours so please check Pooleys or the airfield site first. Noise abatements are all shown & straightforward. Try avoiding villages near by and right hand turn out on departure. They prefer week day visitors but Saturdays are fine. The club house is picture postcard stuff and the Dick the airfield manager is a great character. Easy to spot from the air and runways plenty long enough for all but the beginner. Club house has tea & coffee facilities & there is a pub 10 mins walk away but we didn't have time to visit today. Fuel is on site but check first before assuming. This has to be in my top 3 airfields I have yet visited and is a credit to GA. Hope I find more like this. Go visit, you won't be dissapointed.

A lovely little airfield. as noted by other posters on the site land between the white barrels to avoid the bump, but its a nice long smooth runway after that. Very close to Kemble so watch for their space. really friendly welcome. nice tight circuit required when using 22 due to noise and there are noise abatement requirements on departures as well so PPR and a briefing needed. Well worth a visit

Having visited 50 airfields during the last 18months I have to say this is in the top 5 to visit.Very well maintained with an excellent club house, helpful friendly service by the onsite manager, fuel available and only a short walk to the local for food if required.

The 2 things to think about when using Oaksey Park, first as previously mentioned is the landing on 22 requires the aircraft to touch down after the white markers (a barrel on either side of the runway, each painted white, about a quarter runway length inset from the threshold). This is due to a lump in the runway which would make the landing difficult.

The second thing to consider is the noise on departure from 22 and arrival to 04. There is a residence on the extended centreline to the south west of the airfield which should be avoided by offsetting a few degrees to the north (not south as this will infringe another residence). When departing 22 turn a few degrees to the right, until you have passed over the large power lines, and on arrival to 04, be positioned to the left of the centreline before passing over the large power lines.

Flew in on 1st Nov (07). Landing between and beyond the white barrels on 22 to avoid the bump(!) was no problem and we could not have been made more welcome. Strip was in excellent condition.

What a great field!!! Flew in for a Wiltshire PFA fly-in. It was my first grass landing but the field was in excellent condition and the tower was exceptionally friendly. Highly recomended as a place to go.
