“ | Landing fee was only 25 euros which was reasonable considering we had
1: Follow-me van
2: Bus to terminal
3: Processed through security :-(
GA Parking is quite a long way from the terminal but the mini-bus was quick and efficient .
If you want to just have a pit-stop (toilets) and refuel (as we did on our return from Germany) go somewhere else- its a very long process just for a wee !
The bus drops you off near customs (escorted through) and then to get back to your aircraft you have to pass through normal airport security. So make use of the non-airside facilities before security as you will be escorted (even to the toilets) after !
Very friendly and helpful staff..

“ | Flew to Oostende from Thruxton in my PA28. Very efficient and helpful throughout; the airport is very GA friendly and reasonably priced considering the services it offers. We were charged 68 Euros for landing, takeoff, 2 nights stay and security processing for 3 passengers. This included a follow-me truck and marshaller to guide us to our parking spot, shuttle bus from the GA apron to and from the terminal, full briefing and met services and a 3000m runway. Outside the terminal there is a bus every 10 minutes to Oostende railway station. Bristol, Cardiff and Southampton take note!
The lady in the met office could not do enough for us, and nothing was too much trouble. Thoroughly recommended. ” |

“ | We went to Oostende from North Weald on 15/07/2012. Atlas control was watching us half way (the Olympic restrictions are very entertaining - we love a new challenge). Switched to Lille info midchannel. Then, briefed by AIPs, overhead Dunkirk we switched to Oostende approach. They cleared us through Koksijde zone at present level (4100 ft). Oostende ATIS reported clouds at 800 ft with rain. So we requested to duck under - no problem. Got washed on the approach, but could see the airfield from far away. Joined left downwind 26 and landed on 'patches of water' as ATISed. Stop reading and start watching: www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8F2raszrB8 ” |
