I visited Panshanger by road on 02.04.11 with a view to flying in at a later date. I called into the flying school where I received a very warm welcome. I explained my requirements and was advised that visitors membership would be the most suitable option. This is just £25.00 for a year's membership and entitles the member to half price landings, half price overnight parking and 10% discount in the cafe. When I visit I'm likely to stay for a couple of nights with friends who live nearby so I only need to go a couple of times to more than break even. I was offered a free cup of coffee on this visit so I tried the cafe and found that it was excellent. I also noted that there are a lot of events, including fly-ins, taking place throughout the year. Overall I found it to be a very pleasant airfield and I'm very much looking forward to flying in as soon as possible.

Picture by Ashleigh Howells. Overhead Panshanger about to descend deadside for 11. What a great housing estate to live in that is, parallel to the runway!
