Pilot reviews of Peplow Airfield
“ | Have flown a C172 and a Beech F33C in here. There's only one runway effectively available, 06/24. The other one is too broken up in places to be safe. It's not in the best shape, but it is useable; you might find your prop also functioning as a lawnmower in some brief spots! I would have to dispute the rwy length at 600mtrs (800yds). Measured on Google Maps, it's 516mtrs (1692ft), and I would concur with that; this place will test your short field landing abilities in a heavier acft like a Beech Bonanza, but it is certainly doable! Just be sure to get the latest surface winds from RAF Shawbury. Otherwise Dave Williams is a great host! Just be sure to nail that short-field landing within the first coupla hundred feet or go-around and try it again! ” |
“ | I had a great welcome here when I flew in, the owner met me talked about the Airfield, the history etc. Fascinating visit. I can remember its not easy to locate or find Active Runway so A briefing would be very important as I think some Runways are now fenced halfway down etc. Definatley Recommend
