Pilot reviews of Perigueux
20 Aug 12 - Paul Gandy - Heathfield
|“||Nice airfield, set in a valley with hills on all sides with a long runway in excellent condition. A few km from the town but we got a taxi without difficulty with the help of the flying club.
No ATC so its blind calls in French but that's not too bad once you get in practice and its a skill you need on most French airfields if you are touring.
Quite active however, be warned, you need a Total car to get fuel, as is almost always the case now at the smaller French fields and we were lucky to persuade a local pilot to sue his card to fill our aircraft. I don't think that they are now supposed to do this and it would be easy to get caught without fuel.
No landing fees. a good place to base yourself provided you sort out fuel, we filled up at Limoges earlier in the day just in case. |
