Pilot reviews of Peterlee Airfield
“ | Landed here for a refuel. Chose due to location and landing fee prices. Have used Durham in the past and you have to go through. Very helpful staff. AVGAS was 2.01 per litre. LF £2.50 per seat. Grass was very slippery and was advised not to touchdown on grass. When taxiing for takeoff we were slipping all over the place on the grass!!! After landing you taxi down a narrow strip which has lots of large loose stones. Could do with a regular daily sweep. Have to meander round these to avoid possible stone chips on the prop. I would visit again. Thanks to all ” |
“ | Flew into Peterlee, called first and Adam was extremely helpful, called us a taxi and was patient with our 'missed slot due to weather!' The airfield is really well located for Durham in our the Passport office. The tarmac is is good condition but for our A/C (DA-40) is tight, tight, tight! Its good practice to test your skills and it wouldn't hurt if you strayed onto the grass. There are some pretty ominous looking wind turbines and power lines on the climb out of R30 which aren't marked in Pooleys. Gets your game on though!
Will certainly return and highly reccomend to others. Thank you. ” |
“ | Very helpful ATC. Landing fee with 2 hr 30 min parking a bit steep at £61 (ouch) ” |
