“ | A firm favourite with all the local pilots, I've been into Rosemarket lots of times in my Ikarus. The strip is a little bumpy, and narrows where it goes through the hedge towards the top of the slop, but nothing airframe-threatening. Always a very warm welcome. Highly recommended. ” |
“ | Super place to visit with the owner being an enthusiast and great facilities. Becoming one of the most popular stop off's with the microlight fraternity in Wales. Recent fly-in with a vintage club with a lot of 1940's Luscombes the other day. Not your usual airstrip - but the better for it. Try their bacon sandwiches! ” |
“ | I've visited Rosemarket on more than one occasion. Always VERY friendly welcome and simple but good scoff!. Best to PPR as the grass strip does get quite wet at certain times of the year. ” |
“ | Great airstrip , make you wish that all golf clubs would provide an airstip like this one. ” |
“ | I flew into Rosemarket today and ticked off another of my "want to" list. It's a moderately challenging strip for the newish PPL that I am, but manageable without too much drama.
The runway length is adequate although the narrowish width, and the fact the runway goes straight through a hedge does focus the mind somewhat! It's also a little lumpy in patches and slopes east/west down the length of the runway.
It was worth it for the strange sight of the aeroplane parked up with the cars and golfers wandering by!
PPR by phone, but they was no problem with getting permission, even though I was coming in for the evening.
They ask you to do a low pass to get the golfers off the course before you land and it's best to assume it's non-radio. They do have a handheld but it's not always on.
Unless there's a fly-in, you can expect to be the only aeroplane there, but the owners seemed delighted to have airborne visitors and the golfers all looked puzzled but not at all put out by this little aeroplane landing on their fairway!
Nice, unusual place to add to the logbook. ” |
