Pilot reviews of Rougham Airfield
“ | Flew into Rougham the other week. Out of hours, so I can't tell you anything about the people or facilities, but Peter Eager was very helpful indeed on the phone.
The grass was all right, but there's (still) a large patch of tarmac at the runway intersection. Make sure you get a good look at it on downwind so you can plan your approach. (I just kept my ground roll well to the side of it, which is possible, but I was still going at a fair clip when I passed it, and wouldn't like to have hit it at that speed).
Getting a response from the email address on the website was difficult, but a message on the answerphone did the trick. ” |
“ | Attended a fly in at Rougham today.
Long, wide runway on 09 / 27 and a decent cross runway. taxi ways a little rough but no problem if you keep the speed down.
Very easy to locate and straightforward sircuit information on the website.
ATC and reception by the fly in people very friendly.

“ | A great grass airfield to operate into, visited Nov 07 in a Christen Eagle. RW 09/27 wide and smooth, with RW 02/20 a little less smooth at the northern end (where gliders are parked in trailers). Watch out for remnants of concrete surface at intersection of the runways.
Good practical information on the airfield website. ” |
