EGCF Night Shoot
Sunday, 20 Nov 2011
On a Bitterly cold Saturday evening on 19/11/2011, I arranged a mini night shoot with three others in attendance, to try & see if we could make an interesting night shoot at Sandtoft.
I used a clubs PA28 & waited while the runway was closed for flying for the day & lit the Runway lights up & positioned the PA28 at 23 under-run area before the threshold.
Phil Hartshorn was my ground Pilot for the engine run up & taxi out & back for parking. Many thanks to Phil for helping out.
I now have a new Sony A580 & new Photo Processing software. I have never used the new camera for nights yet so it was a learning curve for me.
I thought this would be different to the normal Night shoots I had been to being on an active but closed for the night airfield, this was an experiment, as normally night shots are done with "interesting" military or ex military in museums. I wanted to try to see if it generated interest & will maybe try a Cessna 150/172 next time.
Thanks to Sandtoft airfield Owners & Management for allowing me to try this, see what you think???
