Seighford Airfield

An application 08/10971/FUL for a proposed Driver Experience track and facilities reference Y3425/A/09/2093718. An appeal has been put to the Secretaryof State in respect of the foregoing on the 8 January 2009 on the grounds of non-determination by planning services of Stafford Borough Council.

Three copies of any comments that you wish to make regarding objections to this development which may destroy the use of the runway for aircraft in future, the production of food and polute and destroy the peacful rural area and natural habitat of the area. Any comments should be sent within 6 weeks of the 8 January 2009 to the Planning Inspectorate, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol, BS1 6PN.

Here there is a perfect. concrete runway owned by a Mr Eld who resides nearby.Until reasantly the runway was used by a small group of flyers 4 aircraft approx but is now seriously threatened by a fun speed motoring organisation which of course will stop free use of the airfield.

The usable portion for aircraft is approximately 500 yds long and 50 yds wide with approximatly a 480 yds grass extension formally concrete runway. It appears that if proposed planning application goes ahead this rare bit of aviation oporunity will be lost for the forseeable future. There is currently one pilot uaing the runway as and when motoring activity is not in progress. Can any one help before the facility is lost?
