Visited Swansea (EGFH) on 22/08/2013 as part of a CPL QXC from Netherthorpe (EGNF) and Haverfordwest (EGFE). Aircraft was a C172, G-ROLY based at Netherthorpe and Lyndon Sandie was PIC. Routing from Haverfordwest was via Pembroke Dock and St Clears. The airfield was easy to spot and was pretty busy with traffic but an excellent radio service was provided by Swansea radio. The runway in use was 10 which is the shorter of the two but still ample for GA traffic. Both runways are in excellent condition. The actual airfield is large and it is a shame not to see it used as a commercial operation anymore. Lunch was excellent value in the on site restaurant which seemed popular with the locals and children plane spotting too. Lovely weather meant lunch was served outside. Our routing back to Netherthorpe took us out over Mumbles and back into the overhead before heading for Tycroes for a house photo opportunity. Would definitively visit Swansea again, some lovely flying to be had in this part of the UK.
