Tatenhill has two runways 26/08 with 04/22 under reconstruction due to reopen later in 2017.

The flight deck cafe is run by Tatenhill Aviation and serves meals from 10:00am to 4:00pm 7 days per week.

East Staffordshire Flying Club is based at the airfield with around 200 members.

Nearby is St Georges Park, the England and F.A. training base.

Burton on Trent, the capital of brewing in the UK.

The Peak district is at hand, and fabulous scenic flights can be enjoyed departing from EGBM over Chatsworth House and the Derwent Dams, the training area for 617's Dam Busters raid.

    In brief...

    18 Jan 08: Planning update

    Mike Fawdrey - Hednesford Staffs
Hi Guys < I can't remember whether I have already posted this to you but following the Planning Inspectors visit Tatenhill Aviation have been granted permission to update the airfield. 4 modern hangars are to be built to replace the WW 2 hangar which is in poor condition. There is also to be new 2 storey modern office accomodation including a new tower, landscaping and new road access which will hopefully be a safer exit/entrance.

ESFC at Tatenhill have a varied program of events throughout the year. On Friday evening 14th July we had the opportunity to experience unpowered flight at Needwood Gliding Club.

I don't know whether anyone else has tried it but I was very impressed.

They are only allowed to use a winch launch at this site but the rate of climb on take off was staggering compared to a normal Cessna or Piper and the visibility was also much better.

I don't intend to take it up but I would recommend any pilot to try it.
