Dropped into Turweston for fuel on Tuesday 29th May 2012 in a C172, G-ROLY on the way back from The Isle of Wight en-route to Netherthorpe.
Phoned up and got PPR, was told the hard runway was out of action so we would need to use the grass. Joined downwind for 27 avoiding Hinton In The Hedges by flying a little further north first.
No problem with the grss runway and it was quite smooth. The airfield had quite a few aircraft parked but not many people around. Had a nosy around and a toilet stop while getting G-ROLY refuelled at £2.11 a litre for AVGAS, (The new stuff also available).
We were told that AVGAS will we dropping in price in the next few days. We had 140 litres delivered which took it to its absolute max.
Friendly service and the tarmac runway was due to be finished by Saturday whichwill be the 2nd June 2012.
Nice views of Silverstone on approach too.
Would like to revisit with a bit more time to spare.

s this.
