I first flew into Turweston in December 2014 when there was hardly anyone there and the control tower was in a small portacabin. Very impressive transformation I saw when I flew-in on 18 May. The new building now offers a cafe with good food and a balcony with a full view of the RW and all aircraft movement. A lake and well maintained garden gave a very pleasant atmosphere around the new building. The aerodrome was bustling with many light aircraft coming and going and one doing touch and go's. You have a choice of asphalt or a grass runway, I used the grass to land and asphalt to take off. My Skyranger microlight was the tiniest amongst the light aircraft and a jet flying around there. An altogether enjoyable experience.
