Pilot reviews of Warton Aerodrome

Stephen Nuttall - 0.5 NM North of HMS Nightjar
“ | A slightly different review this time. I'm based at Blackpool Airport, just 5,4 NM from Warton. As Warton is a major military manufacturing location, getting PPR to land there is not very likely, although they will take genuine diversions as part of the Strasser Scheme. However, recently, we have been able to make use of their runway for occasional circuits at no charge.
Having used Warton ATC services, (ATIS and Radar) for the last 20 years,I have always been impressed by their professionalism and friendliness. However, their Ops team has also shown extreme helpfulness recently in allowing us to do practice diversions and circuits for no charge.
I have nothing but praise for Warton in all it's aspects and touch-and-go circuits are probably as close as I will ever get to landing there.
Well done Warton Ops & ATC and thanks! ” |
